drunkencynic's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

we are the modern bohemians

Today the coffee shop was humming. It was gorgeous. There we were, drinking coffee, enjoying the fresh air.

Sam was strumming his guitar and singing softly, his cigarette smoldering, wedged between the neck and the strings.

Anthony was discussing Brendan's so-termed "brilliant" writing, and digressing into a rather charming and egotistical recount of his own so-termed "brilliant" writing when he was younger. We decided that he was wearing mascara today, since all of us noticed how pretty his eyes were.

Then we started discussing the art plastered all over the coffee shop walls- colorful, paint-splattered, experimental, found-object kind of art. It's very inspiring.

JR was discussing photography with no one in particular.

Then we discussed the Italian Renaissance (I was the only one who could define the literal meaning of Renaissance [rebirth]) and its superstars.

And I sat there, inhaling all the culture, with my Much Ado About Nothing script in my hands and the lovely poetic words dying on my lips, smelling the coffee and flowers and cigarette smoke and listening to the intelligent banter and peaceful guitar strumming, and I felt so lucky to be there.
